Iolite is Violetish Blue in color. Iolite is called ‘Kakaneeli’ in Hindi, also called ‘Neeli’ at times. Iolite shows strong Pleochroism; Iolite shows three distinct colors (Violet – Yellow – Colorless) in different directions (Trichroic).
Iolite can be good substitute for Blue Sapphire & Tanzanite at much lesser price.
